It's National Lorry Week!
/Everything we eat, drink, wear and use has spent time on the back of a lorry. Homes, places of work, hospitals, shops, restaurants and schools all rely on an efficient cost-effective, transport and logistics network.
Run by the Road Haulage Association (RHA), the aim of the event is to raise the profile of the UK’s haulage industry, both as an essential service provider and as an excellent, and often overlooked, career opportunity.
Events will be taking place across the country to allow kids and adults to get up close and personal with trucks and speak to lorry drivers first-hand about the career path they have taken. We kicked off this year's week-long celebrations with a visit to Braehead Primary School in Dumbarton. We took along one of our Scania trucks with lorry mounted crane to the school fair to allow pupils to take a closer look at what a lorry looks like.
Galt Transport will also be exhibiting at the National Lorry Week event in front of Falkirk Football Stadium on Thursday 22nd September from 10-12 noon. Everyone is welcome to come along to this free event to see our trucks and chat to our staff.
