ScottishPower Customer Service Award
/ScottishPower has recognised Galt Transport as a provider of excellent Customer Service as part of their annual supplier awards. The special event was held in the energy company’s new HQ in Glasgow and saw the Dumbarton based haulage company receive a Highly Commended award for Customer Service. Sixteen special recognition awards were issued to the company's suppliers who have been helping to deliver a variety of upgrades and improvements across the UK.
Galt Transport have been working with ScottishPower for around 20 years on various jobs involving their extensive fleet of lorry mounted cranes and haulage services.
At the awards evening, ScottishPower revealed they have placed around £5 billion worth of contracts in the last two years as part of its largest ever investment phase, supporting more than 80,000 jobs across the company’s supply chain. Around 55% of the £5 billion has been spent with UK companies, with contracts placed with more than 3,500 suppliers.

Our successful partnership with ScottishPower is down to great teams of people in both organisations, who work tirelessly to ensure delivery and support is achieved when and where it is needed and we look forward to continuing this relationship for many years to come.”
Keith Anderson, ScottishPower’s Chief Corporate Officer, said: “To deliver some of our most ambitious projects ever, we are working with a wide range of specialist companies, and supporting tens of thousands of jobs. Galt Transport has provided excellent customer service in particular in relation to the transport and logistics service provided to our Renewables business.
“It has been a year of uncertainty politically in the UK, with choppy waters still to be navigated in the years ahead. However, if the Government continues to provide stable regulation and presses ahead with the ambitious clean energy and industrial strategy policies, then companies like ScottishPower will continue to invest billions of pounds and support quality jobs.”
Established in 1947, Galt Transport are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year. The family run business operates throughout the UK, Ireland and the EU from 4 operating centres across Central Scotland and employs over 60 staff.
